We were returning from Denver, following the old Rocks Golden State Route, and encountered this eastbound grain train at Wellsford, Kan. It was stashed in the siding there, waiting out a MOW curfew. The MOW forces were busy, we saw several work areas between there and Pratt. The 114 car train is stretched out over the rise, US 54 in the foreground. Oh well... |

The westbound home signal is also red/red, reflecting the status of nothing moving while the work zone is in effect. There will probably be a flood of traffic later on, as the work areas are released. Too bad I wont be there to see it!! |
