PRR 6825, M-1, 1956
MDiv. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Duncannon, Pennsylvania, in May of 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6825, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in June of 1959 after 33 years of faithful service. Ii this context, it's about to pass through the Duncannon Passenger Station with a manifest freight bound for Altoona and points West. A small portion of the eastward-flowing Susquehanna River is visible at the far left, while a hawk surveys the scene at the upper right. ("Stoneborobranch"; #17 of 56)
