Here a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in June of 1952. The photographer is not identified. Prominent in the center is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9478, an FP-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in September of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, later regeared and reclassified as an FF-20, and retired in December of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. Also visible are several Baldwin-built passenger "Sharks" whose road numbers are not recorded. ("Stoneborobranch"; #10 of 10) |
