Description:  Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near Avondale, Pennsylvania, on 26 May 1957. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8776 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #8776 is a BS-12AMS road switcher built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in September of 1952, rated at 1,200 horsepower, and retired in October of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, they're pulling one of the PRR's patented "Off-the-Beaten-Path" railfan excursions. ("Stoneborobranch"; #1 of 10)

PRR 4339, EFP-15, 1966
Title:  PRR 4339, EFP-15, 1966
Description:  Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Toledo, Ohio, during September of 1966. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4339 and #1454. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #4339 was built as EFP-15 number "9839" in April of 1952 and renumbered "4339" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. #1454 was constructed as EF-15 number "9667" in March of 1949 and renumbered "1454" for the merger. In my opinion, #4339 has become a sad example of the PRR's policy of "deferred maintenance." ("Stoneborobranch"; #3 of 10)
