Milwaukee Road Alco road slug in 1977 in St Paul MN.
The Milwaukee Road turned Alco RS3s into road slug and paired them with GE uboats and EMD units in the 1970s. This would be a fun kitbashing project in HO scale. I remember seeing these run by Lake Calhoun in the Milwaukee Road cut, and along the double tracked main to Chicago along the Mississippi River

Stan Lytle General I don't think this was taken in 1971. The MILW 5006 hadn't been renumbered to MILW 5056 yet. And the MILW SG1 would have been working the hill in Tacoma. 9/11/2011 10:42:16 PM

Greg Smith General It looks to be in Milwaukee judging by the high tension lines out by 35th St. These were nicknamed "Twinkies" 1/2/2012 11:21:03 PM
