Here is a photo which first appeared in an article by Philip W. Klaus, Jr., entitled "The Newtown Square Branch." It was published in the Winter 1986-1987 issue of "The High Line" magazine, page 7. Partial & Revised Caption: "Double-headed H's approach Baltimore Pike after entering Newtown Square Branch. H-10s No. 8259 is in the lead, with H-9S [#3097] as helper.... Photo by Don Kehl; June 10, 1949." Both locomotives are (2-8-0) "Consolidateds." #8259 is an H-10S built by the American Locomotive Company during 1916 and retired in February of 1959. #3097 is an H-9S "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during 1910, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-9S in June of 1917, and retired in December of 1954.
