| Blackhawk. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken near Toledo, Ohio, on 13 July 1961. Photo Caption: "FM CFA16-4, PRR #9498. Toledo, Ohio. 7-13-61." Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9498 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are FF-16's built by Fairbanks-Morse and rated at 1,600 horsepower each. #9498 was constructed in November of 1950 and retired in April of 1965 after just 15 years of service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Fairbanks-Morse and Lima Diesels ~ Eastern and Canadian Roads" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (902-36). |
