"Pennsy" Magazine, January-February 1958
Here is a photo from an article entitled "'Slimming' The PRR For More Efficient Operation." It was published originally in the January-February 1958 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 10. Photo Caption: "Three tracks do the work of four on this Main Line section east of Derry, Pa., where No. 1 track was taken up. Middle track has been reverse-signaled for two-way operation." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5854 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5854 was constructed in September of 1947. They're rockin' 'n' rollin' with an eastbound passenger train.
