PRR Lewistown Vistas, #5 of 5, c. 1938
Burkey. Here is the fifth of five photos via Raymond Wolfgang that were taken near Lewistown, Pennsylvania, c. 1938. Prominent here is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad Class M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" steam locomotive passing over the four-track Juniata River Bridge with a mixed-cargo freight train out of Enola that's bound for Altoona and points West. Note that this stone-arch Bridge was built over the piers of its predecessor. (#7 of 25)
