PRR Locomotive Ready Tracks, #2 of 9, c. 1953
Here is the second of nine successive original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken from the 17th Street Bridge in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here is an unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad "M" Class (4-8-2) "Mountain" steam locomotive about to pass under the Bridge on its way to the East Altoona Roundhouse. Partially visible in the hazy distance is the PRR's Erecting & Machine Shop. Also note the shoeprints in the grainy soot at the left.
