Portraits 6. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via F.R. Kern. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6700, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an M-1A during March of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in March of 1944, and retired in June of 1957 after 27 years of faithful service. This is the first M-1A ever produced. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. (#39 of 43)
