BN 1384  Contributor's Pick!
The BN's Chrysler Turn stops to work the box at the Fairlawn interlocking. This was train was very commonplace in 1995 running each day from Lindenwood Yard to Fenton. The interlocking at which this train stopped was MoPac's Carondelet Branch. By 1995 it was reduced to UP's Kirkwood Industrial Lead. This BN train was an empty autorack move to be loaded at Fenton's Chrysler Assembly Plant, but by 2006 this train is no more. The huge Chrysler plant is switched by the Missouri and Valley Park. The diamond in this picture is now gone. Vehicles that this train carried on its return trip back to Lindenwood are trucked to Centreville, IL and loaded for the UP to handle.

Pat Scott General That's a cool bit of history in this shot. 10/18/2006 5:03:15 PM
Zach Pumphery General Hell, the vehicles they were hauling then are on their third owners in some cases. Nice shot and history, as Pat said. 10/19/2006 8:48:56 AM
Zach Pumphery General Not to mention the engines are ex-SLSF, also really fitting. 10/19/2006 8:50:29 AM
