CR GG1 #4891
Still proudly displaying one of the stripe patterns that made the GG1's so distinctive is Conrail #4891. The loco was built by Pennsylvania Altoona shops and Westinghouse in April of 1940 and served the PRR as well as PC and CR until retirement 40 years later in February of 1980. Conrail conductor Ken Taylor captured this beautiful but sad moment in its history.
