| AHC. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1946. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6172, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during October of 1944 and retired in October of 1957 after just 13 years of revenue service. Looks to me like this photo was taken from the last car of a passing train. |
