PRR 7249, EFS-17M, 1960         
Sweetland. Here is duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken near Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, in October of 1960. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7249 and two more "Geeps" whose numbers are not recorded. All are EFS-17M road switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7249 was built in October of 1959. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train, and are about to enter the Allegheny Tunnel on their way to Conway Yard and points West. In the right foreground is the link to the westbound New Portage Secondary Track.
