Real find  Contributor's Pick!
I dont shoot a lot of short lines and regionals as a rule. Not that I dont like them, they are often hard to find running. Unlike UP or BNSF, their operations are often not obvious to an outsider, and since I often have limited time to go exploring, I dont take the time to seek them out. So I was pleasantly surprised when driving through Panama City to see the gates going down across US 98. I grabbed the shot, getting this 21 car local with, of all things, a New England Central unit leading, about as far as one can get from Gulf Coast Florida in distance and temperament.

Bruce McIntosh General I was in Panama City just a couple weeks later and caught a few pics of the NECR Geep working the yard on the east side of the road. No sign of the Bay Line loco, though. 10/7/2019 1:05:12 PM
