PRR 6000, EF-25A, 1966
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-June of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #6000 and another unit whose number was not recorded. #6000 is an EF-25A built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. After passing under four-track Signal Bridge #2397, they are returning to East Altoona for another helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back.
