| Engine for the day's train. Of course, I missed her working because I was, well, at work myself. Interestingly (to a gearhead like me, at least), 301 had her prime mover freeze up years ago when still at the mine. The block actually has waves in it from ice formation. Yet, all the cylinders still align with the crank, there were not block cracks, and she still runs great. Baldwins are tough. If this had happened to an EMD, all new block would have been required.. |
