| c1900 From the back of the print: "Maine Central Engine #9 at Yard 8, Commercial St. Portland, Me." This 0-4-0 was a MEC Class 4-12. Cyl:16x24 w/ 52 inch drivers. Built by the Portland Works in 12/1887 builders number 571. This series of locomotives were renumbered in 1900, however this locomotive was the only one in the series which remained #9 before and after. It was scrapped in 1910. /DL |
