| Another recent restoration by the URHS, NYC 4083 was one of three units to receive this experimental Century Green paint scheme as a test when the Central was looking for a more simplified look for its trains. Another paint scheme of dark gray was eventually chosen and the A-B-A set of 4083 and two others were the only green units the NYC rostered. Later operating for Penn Central and then NJDOT and NJ Transit, it was one of the few E-units to receive the NJT silver disco stripe scheme as number 4326. |
