Crossing Shanty, possibly SOO
Interior of a crossing shanty preserved at the Historic Galloway House & Village at Fond du Lac, WI, as seen on 31 May '15. The stove is a ‘Smoke Consumer’ No. 140, made by the Estate Stove Co., Hamilton, OH. I did not notice a plaque or documentation identifying which railroad the shanty belonged to or which crossing it used to protect. The exterior paint scheme is identical to that of the former SOO depot out of frame to the left. If one presumes the exterior colors of both structures are historically accurate, one can presume the previous owner.
