Actually it was new in 1970 or so, but while the design was classic IND, the materials-mostly terrazo-were quite a departure from the concrete and tile that had been standard for many years. Dad shot the mezzanine of the 6 Av/57 St IND station, served by the B train at all times except rush hours, when the newly established K train, that went to the Broadway Brooklyn elevated via the new Grand St connection, was in service. |
