This old passenger car from the LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE was being used as the car shop office at the New Orleans Public Belt's CLAIBORNE YARD. The structure in the background is the JUDGE SEEBER BRIDGE, which carries South Claiborne Avenue over the Industrial Canal. The car disappeared around 1980, when the railroad scaled back its operations along the canal. (Month and day approximate.) |
