| The signals were decommissioned on the Rock Island across Kansas and Colorado when the road quit in 1980. The power was turned off, and the heads turned away to face the high plains. As far as I know, there was never any effort to remove them, though some have fallen to the elements over the 45 years since the line went bust. This one, still facing westbound trains, looks hopeful at the moment. |
