This was car 131 on the 1975 Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey blue train. It was originally New York Central 22-roomette sleeper 10409 NAHANT BAY built by Pullman-Standard as a Plan 4122 car in Lot 6790. It was placed in service on 28 September 1948, withdrawn from Pullman lease on 1 July 1958, and sold to the Rock Island in 1959. It was rebuilt into baggage-RPO car 755, retired in 1968 and sold to Ringling Brothers. The car was photographed in the Illinois Central Gulf's Poydras Yard. At that time, the Ringling cars did not wear any reporting mark. |
