B&O GP30 6906
B&O GP30 6906 at about Archer and Western Avenues in Chicago, Illinois on March 7, 1987, photo by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built in October 1962 (c/n 27623) on EMD Order 7628, eventually became CSXT 4110 and was later rebuilt to road slug CSXT 2289. Note the interesting mix of logos on the nose and the employee modification of the cab heater intake below the engineer's front window, covered over with red tape. This was one of the last manually controlled rail crossings in the city limits of Chicago, it was brought to my attention by an article in Trains Magazine, I will try to find the article.
