Description:  MILW F40C 53 near Clinton Street in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in July 1978, Fujichrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 53 was built in May 1974 ( c/n 73689-1 ) for purchase by publicly funded commuter agencies, named Village of Round Lake, it was operated over Milwaukee Road's west and northwest lines. It carried a Milwaukee Road logo but was not owned by the Milwaukee. It eventually became Metra 613 and was retired by 2005. Overhead was RTA F40PH 126 on the C&NW.

Description:  MILW #54 was built by EMD in May of 1974. This was the last of the fifteen soley built for the Milwaukee Road commuter service. Eventually this loco became METX #614 when the MIlwaukee Road collapsed. Although not functional, METX #614 and #611 (nee-MILW #51) have remained on the Metra roster and stored away in the Western Avenue rail yard. Possibly some day they may be restored to ride the rails again! An unidentified rail fan took these photos in the album all on the same day.ILW
