And with about a half hour to spare we made it into Cottage Grove for the IERR. I was pitching for them to use the AWW SD9 highood today, but the usual power, the ex SOU GP38-2 from NS that is adorned in the lovely green yellow and black scheme of the IERR was on the point, which I still was not disappointed with. They left for Fernald at about the time I was told they would and the chase was on! Here they are passing home offices in Cottage Grove. |

We soon figured out that this was not going to be an easy chase. With the combined rain and speed of the train we were going to have to hurry but be safe at the same time, so we didnt end up shooting at most crossings as I was hoping to. Here the train is crossing CR 450S just south of Cottage Grove framed with the codeline. |
