Description:  Extra Board. Here is a clipping entitled "Rail Midget and Giant" that compares mine with mainline motive power. It was published originally in a 1952 issue of "Popular Mechanics," page 126. The "Midget" in the foreground is a battery-powered mine shifter built by General Electric. The "Giant" in the background is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4941, an E-2B electric constructed by GE in June of 1951, rated at 2,500 horsepower, and retired in June of 1965 after just 14 years of experimental service.
