Album Info:Considering how the weather has been lately, luck was on our side right from the start of the day. And the day started well before sunrise with frost on the ground, a clear starlit sky, and a beautiful crescent moon. There's a lot of great things to see in the Binghamton area as well as many challenges! By the time we started to look for a southbound movement on the NYS&W the clouds started rolling in, but, the rain held off. We ended up in Tully, NY at around 16:30 and then called it a day. We got some decent photos, but most of all it was a great learning experience!

CP train 931
Title:  CP train 931
Description:  I'm still learning about the train symbols around here so I'm gonna take Jack's word for it. This train originates in Enola, PA as NS train 31T, when it enters the old D&H system it becomes foreign road haulage as CP 931 and will end up in Montreal, Quebec; Canada.

Pac-man caboose & UP reefer
Title:  Pac-man caboose & UP reefer
Description:  After gettin' some shots of CP train 931 with NS power on it ( the train behind the caboose), we saw this old caboose, and a couple reefers spotted at a cold storage facility. To the left and out of sight is ARMN car #111302.

 Yard/main Binghamton
Title:  Yard/main Binghamton
Description:  Left to right.....NS #2671 tied down. Susquehanna's "dead fleet" with blue lease units beyond them. Westbound mixed freight led by NS #6663. Light power (NS 8980 & 9404) to the immediate right of the mixed freight moving towards us to hook-up to a train that I think they brought in from Buffalo. NS 8980 & 9404 are returning from Conklin yard where they dropped a short string of loaded intermodal cars. After hooking back up to the balance of the train they left on the main, they'll then head north-west on the old D&H!

NS power heading up the D&H
Title:  NS power heading up the D&H
Description:  It's fun to watch all the maneuvering that goes on in this town! I don't know how well the railroads like it, but anyway; from what we could tell, these two engines came into town from Buffalo as NS 206........cut a short string of loaded intermodal cars off the front of the train, ran them over to Conklin yard, came back and hooked-up to what was left, and then headed up the D&H as CP train 938!

CP train 253
Title:  CP train 253
Description:  Pulling for all they're worth, CP engines 9511 and 8940 power a train up the old D&H! They're about to enter the tunnel at Belden Hill here. I especially liked the big CP letters on the nose of this one!
