About a mile south of the station site is this open area on both sides of the track. The pond to the left is created by a large beaver dam stretching between the rock outcropping and the tracks. The Adirondack track inspectors had knocked a hole in the dam last week but it was already repaired. |

The third train of the day brought us to the Nehasane station. I walked ahead of the train to photograph the process. The station, caught up in a bureaucratic NYS land management "grey area" has been allowed to deteriorate since its acquisition by NYS in the early 1980s. It is in its final days. |
