Amtrak 32009, the George M. Pullman, is the first car on todays Coast Starlight. Due to a drop in ridership, Amtrak has changed the schedule of both north and southbound Coast Starlights to depart tri-weekly, meaning catching scheduled meets here in SLO is no longer possible. SLO now sees one train per day, northbound trains on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and southbound trains on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The George M. Pullman is the last car built by the Pullman company. |
