Frisco 1630 Steam Locomotive Running Gear at Illinois Railway Museum
Title:  Frisco 1630 Steam Locomotive Running Gear at Illinois Railway Museum
Description:  St. Louis - San Francisco (Frisco) 2-10-0 steam locomotive view of left side running gear at the Illinois Railway Museum. These had originally been built in 1918 as 5 foot gauge for Russia but the order was cancelled due to the Russian Revolution. They were modified to run on standard gauge for U.S. operation by putting wider tires on them and this can be seen in the photo. These wider tires overhand the rails quite a bit and cant be, or shouldn't be, used on switches with self guarded frogs.
