Description:  Here is a photo from an article entitled "Railroad Makes 1954 Year Of Improvements For Expected Upturn In Business." It was published originally in the May 1955 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 15. The photographer is not identified. Shown here are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9515 and two more "EF" Class units with a mixed-cargo freight train near Chicago, Illinois. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9515 is an EF-15 built in April of 1948 and retired in February of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service.

Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9515 and two more "EF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9515 is an EF-15 built in April of 1948 and retired in February of 1953 after just 15 years of revenue service. Note the westbound string of Great Northern Railroad ore carriers.
